The R3 & R5 rotary swinf gate operators Improve your swing; The R3 Rotary Swing Gate Operators

The R3 and R5 rotary arm swing gate operators are the logical choice for most swing gates. The wide arc of operation combined with inherent soft acceleration and deceleration provide swift opening and closing of the gate.

The operators are powered by a high torque geared DC motor coupled to a high strength worm- reduction gearbox. The systems use a 12V maintenance free battery as the primary power source. The battery is charged via a mains electricity supply or solar panel.

The operators are available for mounting directly to the gate support pillar, referred to as WALL MOUNTING, or onto a steel post positioned forward of the gate, referred to as PEDESTAL MOUNTING.

GENERAL FEATURES

OPERATING FEATURES

The heart of the both the R3, R5 operators is the electronic controller. A benefit of these units is that they use the same CP75 controller. The is particularly beneficial for after service support of the product as stock holding of spare controllers can be reduced and technical staff only have to become familiar with one controller instead of two. The CP75 offers a wide range of useful features to suit from the most basic to complex installations.

WHAT KITS AND CONFIGURATIONS ARE AVAILABLE?

The R3, R5 are designed typically for inward swing gate applications either single or double. They can also be used in applications where the gates must open outwards with the operators mounted inside the property.

BATTERY CHARGER:

The standard domestic kits are supplied for installations where a 220V* mains supply is installed directly to the gate operator. The kits are also available with a split charger unit requiring only a low voltage installation to the gate.
* Charger units for 110V AC supply are available on application.

The R3 is designed primarily for domestic applications using a battery as the primary power source and a charger to maintain the battery is a healthy state. The R5 is an effective operator in both domestic and light industrial applications. It can either be used as a battery driven system with charger or with a power-pack (PSU6). The powerpack replaces the standard 7AH battery mounted inside the controller enclosure. Where battery back-up is required a separately mounted battery is supplied. The capacity of the battery is selected according to the power failure autonomy required.

MOUNTING CONFIGURATIONS

The R3 and R5 are available in kits for mounting onto a pedestal or via a bracket directly onto the adjacent wall.

Pedestal mount: This method of mounting uses a steel post firmly concreted into the ground adjacent the gate leaf. It allows the installation to be totally independent of the size of the gate pillar and provides excellent locking of the gate without the need to fit additional electric locks.

The standard pedestal supplied for the R3 kit is a 75mm sq post with adaptor plate. The R5 pedestal is a 100mm sq post.. Finally there is available a short pedestal which allows the unit to be bolted onto a concrete floor. Such applications include underground parking lots etc.

Pedestal mounted perpedicular to the pillar
wall mounted perpendicular to the pillar

Wall Mount: This method uses a simple elbow bracket bolted onto the gate pillar. This method provides for a very quick installation but does not offer the same level of security as the pedestal installation.

Wall mounted parallel to pillar

LINKAGE KITS:

R3/R5: There are three linkage kits available with the R3 and R5 operators selected according to the mounting configuration of the operator.

MODEL APPLICATION / DESCRIPTION
SHORT LINKAGE KIT Inward opening installations using a pedestal to mount the operator. Available as a single or double kit
LONG LINKAGE KIT Inward opening wall mount installation or outward opening installations. Available as a single or double kit
EXTENDED LINKAGE KIT Extra long connecting arm allowing the length to be adjusted to suit most installations. Available as a single kit only
