The CENTOR traffic barrier is the right product for high volume access control applications such as shopping mall parking lots, large business estates etc.
It incorporates a 220V torque motor. The unique operating characteristic of this motor provides the system with a continuous rating (100% duty). It is very efficient with a barrier raise time of less than 3 seconds (3 & 4.5m boom pole models).
It offers fail safe operation in that the barrier will automatically raise in the event of a mains power failure. The CENTOR barrier enclosures are robustly constructed from either mild or stainless steel (Typically grade 430) to provide a tough and long lasting product.
The reliability of the system is further enhanced, by the simplicity of the design and the minimal quantity of mechanical components used.
It uses the CENTURION CP91 controller which offers proven reliability and the flexibility that it can be programmed to suit majority of applications.
The unit is very easy to install as it requires only two sturdy rawl bolts into a proper foundation to secure it in position.
The torque motor used in the CENTOR barrier is a high impedance motor that is designed to run continuously. It therefore provides an operating duty of 100%. It does not use any limit switches to power off the motor in the barrier raised or lowered positions. The CP91 controller controls the direction of the motor to either raise or lower the boom. At the end of each cycle the motor linkage is driven up against a rubber stopper and is held there by the continuous operation of the motor, until the next raise/lower signal.
The unit is fitted with an internal spring counterbalance to assist the motor when raising the boom pole. In the event of a mains power failure the counterbalance springs will raise the boom pole automatically. The CENTOR units for either a 3 or 4.5m boom pole, use the same torque motor, it is only the spring counterbalance that varies. The 6m unit uses a motor with a higher torque rating and counterbalance springs.

The unit is supplied fully wired with relay bases for both the closing/safety loops and free exit loop detectors. NB: The loop detector modules are supplied as optional extras.
The CENTRY DC traffic barrier was designed to provide a cost effective traffic barrier for low volume parking area problems. This is ideal for small office blocks, car parks, clinics etc. For example many factories have a need to limit vehicles to the premises during the normal working day, but do not want the traffic jam that is caused when large sliding gates have to be opened and shut hundreds of times a day.
The economical CENTRY barrier is a perfect solution in this situation. The CENTRY barrier enclosures are offered manufactured from mild steel or 3CR12 stainless. The high torque geared DC motor provides a compact but powerful drive unit allowing swift movement of the boom obviating any bouncing of the boom in the end positions.
The CENTRY barrier has been designed to handle up to 500 operations per day.

By incorporating an internal spring balance control CENTURION has achieved a compact slim line appearance that will complement the entrance to a modern office park.
The CENTINEL is constructed to be strong and durable with all balance components shielded within the casing. The barrier is available in both right and left hand operating configurations. The operating lever is designed for comfortable and easy handling of the pole.
The CENTINEL is fitted with a convenient thumbwheel which is used to secure the pole in the horizontal and vertical positions. As an option a cam-lock can be fitted for locking the thumbwheel.
The CENTINEL can cater for three boom lengths by simply changing the internal balance spring. The lengths are 3m, 4.5m and 6m.
A catch post is recommended with 6m pole units to support the end of the pole and prevent it from sagging.
